earthfriendly
It's 3/4 to 1 1/2 ounce per lb, depending on wax, fragrance, and or personal preference. Find out what your supplier recommends. They all differ, some are stronger than others thus requiring less than the normal 1 oz per lb.You just have to test for yourself and find out. Hope this helps you.Ooops!! I am refering to candles, sorry.
prairieannie
MP soap is usually good at 1/2 oz per pound. A lot of people use less because it smells so strong at first, but I have found that if you want soap with a fragrance that makes your skin smell delicious, you may need to add some more. I always start with 1/2 oz and go up from there if necessary on new fragrances.. and my old standbys vary from 1/2 oz to 1oz per pound. I've only got a few that needed the full oz. If you are using essential oils, start with less. I've found that EO can be used at about 1/2 of what FO take. Sometimes a bit more.

Darbla
You guys always have the answers. I used 1 T in a pound recently and had some complain they couldn't smell it much. I thought it could use more too, so next time I'll try half an ounce. My recipe that turned out pretty good:1 T goat milk1 T liquid soap1 T olive oil1 lb soap
Candybee
I generally use .5oz FO which equals 1/2 oz or 1 tbs per lb of base. I've tried more and my skin broke out and I don't have sensitive skin! So I certainly don't want my customers having skin problems so I try to use no more than .5 oz per lb.I have tried some oils that weren't strong enough at .5 oz so I keep looking until I find one that does. Besides, its more economical in the long run to buy a quality oil that works at .5 oz. JMO
