Lyndsay Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 my lip balm is not what I want and I just realized...its my beeswax! It leaves a smell and taste a lil like beeswax. Is there a way to remedy this? Quote
Carriegsxr6 Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Are you using yellow or white beeswax beeds? The white type should be almost oderless and tasteless. If you are already using the white, then maybe substitute the beeswax with Candelilla Wax or Carnauba Wax Quote
Lyndsay Posted March 17, 2009 Author Posted March 17, 2009 I am using the white. I do want to try the other types of wax but I dont have any. I guess I am going to wait until I need to order more stuff then order the wax then. Thk u Quote
beekeeper_sd Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 I don't know where you are getting your beeswax but there must be something wrong with it if it has a bad taste to it. I use nothing but 100% yellow beeswax in my lip balms and they are wonderful. The only taste they have is the flavoring I add to them. I make an unflavored lip balm that has absolutely no taste to it. I would look into getting your beeswax from another source. Quote
Scented Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Using white here with no aftertaste either. I also add candilla (however that's spelled) wax. Maybe try using a little less beeswax. Quote
Lyndsay Posted March 18, 2009 Author Posted March 18, 2009 Ive ggotten my bw from a few different places. Right now its from MMS. I hate lip balms! lol Quote
beekeeper_sd Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Don't hate making lip balms! They're my favorite bath and body item to make! Just keep trying. Try adding more flavor to the mix and, learn to love the natural beauty of beeswax! My biggest sell is the fact that I'm a beekeeper using beeswax and honey in my products. People love all natural products!! Quote
