Meridith
I just purchased and received a few of the molds from Tony's and can't wait to try them. Do you have to coat them to get the soap out or will the soap release without it? Or is it like my Kelsie which needed to be coated the first few uses until the mold was seasoned? Any suggestions? TIA.
CareBear
They do best with a thin coating of mineral oil. I've not found that they get "seasoned" but I don't use mine that often.I do like them though. Very much!
jbren
I love them! Just don't make the mistake of twisting them like ice cube trays to get the soap out. Just put your thumbs on the long end of the soap and press...they will roll out at you. Mineral oil is ok, or the freezer for a bit then hot water on the back of the mold will do the trick. Meridith
Thank you ladies very much! I've never had molds like these before so I wasn't sure. Your help is much appreciated.
jbren
You are quite welcome. I don't use mine enough, although I love the size and shape of the soaps. I use them mostly for salt bars (they are GREAT for them) and 'specialty' type soaps.
singleyellowrose
I have some too and love them for specialty bars. It makes them distinct different from my Kelsie's.
Barbara AL
I rub a little baby oil in the mold my and my Salt Bars just fall out. I can even use these molds in the oven on 170 for about 30 minutes for the salt bars. I try to not twist them like ice tray because the molds will get crooked.Barbara AL
