samandkennasmom
Hi,I was just reading some other posts and remembered a couple years ago when I was starting to make candles, Loren (CS) told me to add my fragrance oil to the wax at a low temp, can't member the exact temp without going thru all my notes but it seems like it was 110 degrees, he said that if you add it at to high of a temp that all your scent would burn off and it won't throw good. Does anyone else think this is true? Just curious! Thanks!HugsMichele
bugtussle
I use a parasoy and unless I add FO at 185-190, it will not mix in the wax = no throw at all, hot or cold. I am a firm believer that the FO must incorporate into your wax, soy or paraffin at a high temp. Have never had my FO burn off. samandkennasmom
That's what I always thought too so I was thinking that it was kinda weird that he would tell me that since they make candles too...I looked on their website thinking maybe I got something goofed up but that's what their directions say for soy wax. Just wanted some others who have made candles...thoughts!Thanks all!Hugs!Michele
