(what about dropping crisco for lard? I would probably use the lard instead)

It looks very good to me 'Quality-wise' on SoapCalc, but 'Fatty Acid-wise', the linoleic acid content is fairly high at 19%. I personally like to keep my linoleic at 10% or under to prevent DOS. If it were me, I would substitute lard in place of the Crisco. That will give you 10% linoleic acid content, plus give you a harder bar. :smiley2:

If this is your first recipe, (just going by what I was taught) I'd suggest 50-50 on your oils. (50 hard, 50 soft) This way you get an idea of what happens when you start to alter. If I counted right, you're more like 65 hard, 35 soft.

oh yeah, this is not my first recipe, its just that i don't make soap over the summer, too hot and too busy, cuz i do hp.

scented a question, to try and keep it at 50/50, what range should an oil be in the hard numbers? i need to find where my husband put all my books. when he decided to rearrange stuff.

no reason to use both lard and palm, just pick one or the other

I am gonna try this. i think my lard is outdated anyway and i do have palm oil now.
