FunFlames
I make a 75s/25p blend for containers but am not thrilled with it in tealights. I have made tealights before all paraffin and though the throw is great, they don't look so hot. I am not a fan of the look of straight paraffin. My question is.... using a 50/50 blend, where would I start with wicking. In the all paraffin I have used a TL13 or 15. In all soy I have used a TL31 or CD2. I need to order more wicks to test and would appreciate a starting point. I was thinking maybe TL25. Does that sound about right to begin?TIA for any help offered!Danielle

They come nice and long (for tealight wicks), so you can choose how short you want them. With a 70/30 wax, I have had luck with CS TL-28 and GL TL. Holly
P.S. When you used the paraffin wax for tealights was it a soft paraffin or a hard paraffin? My tealights have always been on the soft side. They look nice but I think it would be better if they were hard.....packages easier. It is too easy to mess them up when they are softer. FunFlames
The paraffin I use is J223 (IGI4633) it is softer. That is why I was thinking of trying a 50/50 blend with the 415 for tealights. The soy will pretty it up a bit, but the paraffin will add the ST I am wanting.I do love the throw of the paraffin though!! I love it when a few tealights can scent a room. Thanks for the help Holly! ChrisR
I use a 50/50 blend, not your particular waxes though. I use LX8 or TL15 depending on the scents.
