zip lock bags

Just by Nature's newsletter said they put scented wax shavings in a ziplock bag. My understanding was zip lock bags "ate" the scent or what ever....can someone assure me one way or another here..

If most are polyethylene which ones Polypropylene?

Right now i'm using the ziplock double guard freezer bags.

Next how would one tell which is which if it's not listed on the box?

How about cardboard? Can i use cardboard then wrap the boxes in a ziplock bag?

I found this when dealing with the recycle symbols on storage tubs like the ones sterilite sells and you can pick them up at the dollar store.

if the symbol has a 5 and PP under the symbol it's polypropylene

Somewhere on here there was a thread where polyeth/poly pro was explained. The easiest way I remember is how it breaks or tears. If you can stick your finger through it and it stretches, it's polyeth. Poly pro will break. Cardboard will absorb scent.

your freezer bags are polyeth, no good, will suck the scent out of whatever you have in them. the polypro bags are like cellophane.
