Mountain_Annie
Hi ladies, Could some of you give me a good starting ratio for orange and clove? I did a search on "orange/clove ratio" but came up pretty much empty ended. Thanks much!
ChrisR
The best way to do this is the Q-tip method, since I have no idea what ratio you are looking for......more clove, more orange, equal?? Take 2 q-tips, one dipped in clove and one in orange, put them in a baggie and let them set a couple hours, then open the bag and sniff. Is this the balance you want?? If not, say you want more clove, dip another q-tip in the clove, put in the same baggie as the other 2, seal and let is set another couple hours. Sniff this and if it's the combo you are looking for you'll know your ratio is 2 parts clove, 1 part orange. So for say 1 oz. FO per lb., you'll have to add .33 oz. orange to .67 oz. clove. Just be warned, most clove FO's I've dealt with are a real pain in the ass to wick.
Scented
Or go 2 parts orange to one part clove and see what you think.
Pam W
I'd go 2:1 also cause the clove may overpower the orange at 50/50.
