F/O in soap

How much FO do you use to put in soap (as a general rule of thumb)?

I start out with 1oz/pound of oils. I adjust from there. Never more than 1oz per pound though. If it doesn't work at that rate I don't use it.

So for a 2 lb batch you would use 2 oz FO.

Yes that is correct. Although if the FO seems like it would be very strong you might want to do a bit less, like 1.5 oz for 2 lbs of oils. This is for CP. For MP you would be using less.

1oz per pound is nearly a 6% load. I can't use more than 3% in the soaps I use or the FO irritates my skin.

I put my fo in after the hp process , I pull soap pot out of the oven and then add

1 Tablespoon per lb of soap...that is plenty

I then whip it with a rotary hand mixer till fluffy and scoop into log mold

That's my whip rebatch method ( sometimes I wait till next day and just turn oven back on 170 for an hour to soften soap back up and the whip in fo.

I use less that way cause lye is not eating the fo.

Me too. .7 oz ppo. I would have to REALLY adore the fragrance to use 1 oz ppo. I expect all my FO's to be good at .7 oz ppo.

Most of the fragrances I use have a .7 oz pp recommendation, because they are so strong. So that is what I use. Some places you have to use more, some places less. I would check what the site you got it from recommends.
