Trappeur
Has anyone tried mixing another soy with CB Advanced? Would like to know how it turned out - pros and cons. Thanks. Trappeur
FunFlames
CBA and GB415 play very well together. If you do a search for CBA you will get more info.
Trappeur
What were your findings? Great scent throw or just ok????.....Is 415 a soy or parrafin?Trappeur
FunFlames
415 is a pure soy. The mix seemed to keep the beauty of the CBA but add the better scent throw of the 415.Get a small amount of the 415 and give it a try. 415 is also called EZsoy.... you might be able to find it closer to you under the different name.http://www.craftserver.com/forums/search.php?searchid=997548this will give you more info. morethanrubies
I have a 50 lb box of CBA Advanced that I thought was going to be wonderful from description on CS site. I put some FO in it and the hot throw was TERRIBLE. I was going to throw it out as I thought it was junk wax but then I saw this post. I would have NEVER thought to add more SOY! I seriously need to increase the throw of this wax if I can and salvage the box. May I ask to every 1 lb. of CBA, how much 415 would you add? Thank you! Stella1952
to every 1 lb. of CBA, how much 415 would you add? You'll have to test and see what works best for you. When mixing waxes, I generally start with 20% and go up to 50/50 from there.
RWV
FunFlames, so is the EZsoy that Bittercreek North and South carry the same as the 415? I was just wondering because underneath the EZ soy, it says "exclusively at BC". Thanks!415 is a pure soy. Stella1952
EZSoy is 415. It is private labeled.
morethanrubies
I had one other question, does mixing the CBA with 415 throw better than mixing with paraffin? I read somewhere that CBA does well with 50/50 paraffin but obviously that is more costly.
