AttachedTofive
What do you all do when it comes to shipping candles? Do you do a flat rate or exact costs? I just mailed my first out-of-town order today and was shocked that it cost me $9.50 to ship three 16 oz candles. eeeks!
kimscandles
I ship flat rate when I can, otherwise I usually ship Parcel Post or UPS which includes insurance.
RobinInOR
Most orders I can get into a flat rate box or smaller, so I usually ship USPS and charge actual or 7.70, whichever is less. If it's a bigger shipment it'll go UPS, actual charges.
foxhill
I have a rate table based on weight that is loosely based on the priority mail scale. However, I use flat rate or fedex most of the time because they are cheapest.
sudsnwicks
Could those 3 candles have fit into the USPS flat rate box? I am able to use those for most of my orders. But they are not very big so for large candles they might not work. I've been charging a flat rate ($7.70 - the price of the flat rate box) and if the postage exceeds that, I just pay the difference out of my pocket. Similarly I do not refund them if I am able to send it for less, so in the end I felt it's fair enough.
