anabanana's candles
Does anyone have a recipe for this type of laundry stain soap. My mom has some and loves it and wanted to know if it was something that I could try and make. Any help would be great.
LovelyLathers
I make mine 50% CO, 50% lard. No superfat. I put it in twist up tubes. Works great!
anabanana's candles
Do you put cornmeal in yours? I saw a couple websites where people said it contained cornmeal. I make mine 50% CO, 50% lard. No superfat. I put it in twist up tubes. Works great!
LovelyLathers
No I don't put cornmeal in it. I would be afraid it would damage my fabrics. I sometimes put orange EO in it for extra cleaning power but I really don't see a difference in it when I do.
jbren
Many people use cornmeal in their gardeners, kitchen or mechanics soaps. Never saw it used in laundry soap or stain sticks. My stain sticks are mostly lard with some Coconut oil and Borax. I use Orange and Rosemary EO's which help greatly with stain removal. LovelyLathers
Jbren, how much eo do you use? Maybe I am not using enough or is it the combo of the rosemary and orange that makes it more powerful?
MamaVSoap
Jbren - You just gave me a "Duh" moment! I use homemade laundry soap (for us) and add borax to the washer...I seriously never thought to add it to the soap. Thank you.
marrwilliams
I have made stain sticks the way jbren does it and also with just 100% CO - 0%SF. Both work very well. I was surprised the first time I made and then used one at just how well they work! I've given them to everyone I know!
