Sometimes it clears up in sequester too. It could be the FO though.

Mine did and wow - scratchy. A little goes a long way. If I were to use them again - I would run them through the coffee grinder on the extra FINE setting.

I've used Bittercreek's Vanilla Stabilizer with their Pink sugar that usually turns dark brown for me. It worked and my colors stayed true.

I have made stain sticks the way jbren does it and also with just 100% CO - 0%SF. Both work very well. I was surprised the first time I made and then used one at just how well they work! I've given them to everyone I know!

I make 100% CO Salt Bars with 20% SF. They lather nicely but even at the high SF I found them a bit drying but I have icky/picky skin. Testers loved them though. Coconut is a stable oil - you can SF it way high. Saltbars are somewhat crumbly by nature - but I don't have a problem if I cut while hot.

I do equal parts water and lye with my Castiles and they take forever to trace. I have heard pomace will trace faster though. Drastic water discounts are great for Castiles because they take forever to cure if not.

Hi - Usually people replace Palm with Lard or Tallow. However - if you are against using animal oils - try Cocoa Butter. Even just a little bit hardens up the bars quite a bit. Blending the CB with other hard oils like Olive or Avocado will help too.

Unfortunately - I have had to use at least an 1 oz pp in my soy and many EOs are still very faint at that amount. They are so expensive that I decided since no one is putting my candles on their body - there is no real benefit to using EOs instead of FOs. JMO though. Marr

SFIC bases rock! If you check the ingredients list - you will see it's very close to what you will find in CP soap. Not as many detergents as some of the other types. Marr

Hi Faye! Do you have Babassu or Palm Kernal oils? Both are great replacements for Coconut for cleansing and bubbles. Lard rocks in soap and will replace the Palm nicely. Castor oil will give you nice bubbles and conditioning. Marr

lol - that's a hoot. I am surprised that people are getting rust in Aztec's tins though - because I never have. I have two Vanilla scents and many spicy scents and not one has rusted. Hmmmmm... OK - I think I'll just give Peak's 16 oz a try and see what happens. Thanks for the feedback! Marr

Has anyone used the 8 oz and 16 oz tins from Peak? Or any size for that matter. I am wondering if anyone has had a problem with rust in the Peak tins? There are tins out there that will rust with Vanilla-y FOs. Aztec has awesome tins that do not rust - but their largest size is 8 oz. Thanks! MW

Hi all! I am new here. Been making candles for awhile now. I used to use KY 125 and I love that wax. I tried EZSoy and the KY equivalent (GB Pure Soy?) and HATE THEM in comparison to KY 125. I believe KY 125 is very similar to GB 135 but couldn't swear to it. It's a Soy cottonseed blend. Anyway - I would love to find a supplier that is closer to home as much as I hate to change suppliers. Vicky and the KY staff are tops! BUT -shipping costs are killing me. I can't find anyone selling GB 135 but I see a lot of you are using GB 464 with good results. Closer to home I can find GB 444. Besides the melting point - what differences are there between 444 and 464? And does anyone know a supplier of GB 135? Thanks tons... Marr
