southernsoygirl
I have a question here. I am using GB415 it's recommended to add color and scent at 175 degrees. Mine will only heat up to 165 and no higher. Is it possible to get bad soy? I am really frustrated by this.
Draco
I am new as well, but me personly, I am really bad at remembering to take the temp of my wax before I ad sent and color and have not had a problum with the candles I have made.I would give it a go and see what you come out with in the end. Do a safety test burn with on at home to make sure there are no ill effects, but I think you will be fine.
Stella1952
How are you heating your wax? And have you tested your thermometer in boiling water?
Pam W
How are you heating your wax? And have you tested your thermometer in boiling water? I was thinking bad thermometer too...it's just too odd that you can't heat past 165*.
marcicj
I would think you could heat a liquid pretty much as high as the temp you are heating it over. I agree, what are you heating it with. I use a presto pot and found I just needed to turn it up. Maybe you need to try another heating method.
