I tried the Large Zinc wick 8 inches long (trimmed to 1/4 ") and the flame was too big and it mushroomed too much. I tried the med zinc and the melt pool did not reach the side of the jar. Bunny Posted October 31, 2005 Share Posted October 31, 2005 Ok Peg.. Where in the heck are you getting your wicks from? There's so much more than small, med, and large zincs.. Buy from someone who will give you numbers on your wicks.. I use joy wax, and an 51-32-18 burns with a little hang up on the top, but quickly catches up once it gets on the bottom half.
