topofmurrayhill
Liquid soap is a potassium soap and shower gel is typically made with synthetic detergents. You can make whichever you want but I suppose I'd be inclined to label it what it is.
CareBear
I imagine most of the liquid hand soap you buy in the grocery store is detergent based, but then I never really looked except at Dial soaps for some reason (http://householdproducts.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/household/brands?tbl=brands&id=4002035&query=dial&searchas=TblBrands&prodcat=Personal+care/use).But the liquid soap WE make will be potassium soap cause we make it with potassium hydroxide. And just as CP soap acts differently on skin and in water than detergent bars do, so too will the hand made liquid soap.
