Sag_77
I am really hoping someone can point me in the right direction or help me on this. I know I saw this somewhere but for the life of me I can't find it. I am trying to figure out how much wax will fill a pillar mold without actually having to pour one of each mold. I mainly make votive's and different types of tarts/melts although I have a couple costumers that would like certain pillars. I have the molds but don't want a ton of scented colored pillar wax left over.Thank-you in advanceSag_77

Pam W
or you could pour an unscented, uncolored piller. Unmold & weigh it. Then you can reuse the wax...no loss. My 3x6 mold filled to the rim makes a candle weighing 1.68 lb, my 3x6 fluted candles weigh 1.73 lb. I always make a little extra cause ya never know when a mold might leak and you'll need a little extra for top off. Any left overs can go into votives or tarts. Trae
You could plug up the wick hole of the mold, fill with water, then pour into a measuring cup to see how much it takes to fill the mold. That's wat I've always done. Trae
