idacandlelady
I have researched this and still can't figure it out in my mind. How to figure out how much oils and salt for my mold size. I wanted to use salt at 75% of my oils, but can't seem to figure out the oils either. I know the salt is not going to double the oils size, to fit in the mold correctly. I don't know if I am making this harder than it should be or not.Would someone mind terribly, helping me?My brain has been so dead lately! LaVida
I've read that use use the same amount of salt that you do oils...Example: 32 oz to 32oz Sea Salt. I used a 2 lb recipe and was able to put it in a 2 lb mold....
jenniejr
I do the same for my salt bars. It is the same amount of salt as the amount of oils you are using. **remember to figure your FO only by the oil amount not the total.
sudsnwicks
Check out this thread here:http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54778&highlight=salt+bar+mold+sizeIt gives the calculation so that your mold doesn't overflow, or have you end up with bars which are too thin. Grumpy Girl
calculate your mold size with the formula above. Once you have that cut the recipe oils in half and add salt to make up the other half.
