Oh-MYo
Okay, I apologize if this is the dumbest question you have ever heard. I am way out of my league here and looking for a solution rather than another hobby.I have about 10 pounds of soy flakes which I originally got for candle making. I have found I really dont like soy for candles and was wondering if I could use them in say a prepared M&P product which i can buy from the store. Will it make a big oily mess if I just add more soy flakes to a tub of M&P soap which I can buy from my local Michaels?Or is there a better use for soy flakes?TIA
topofmurrayhill
I think the only way your soy flakes would be useful for soap is if you actually saponified them. I resisted adding soaping to the repertoire for a long time but what the hell. Get yourself some lye.
prairieannie
I think they might actually add a bit o hardness to a bar of MP without saponifying... but just a guess. Try it and see.. MP is forgiving, I don't think you'll ruin anything
hellen
Another option is to sell it it....either here or on Ebay???Personally, I wouldn't use it in M&P...Maybe make some scent melts for friends as gifts????Nah...if ya don't like it...sell it and buy somethig yoou do want.Cheers,Hells
CareBear
the soy wax flakes I have are mighty soft (c3) so the potential for hardening might depend on which soy wax you have. plus some waxes have additives which you many not want in your soap...I agree - sell it.
