pjb31apb
What is it and why do some people skip it? How do they skip it? Sorry if this has been asked before, I did a search and cam up with 6 pages that didn't give me the answer.
Scented
Gel stage is the actual heat reaction of the oils and chemicals. During this stage the soap gets so hot and will start to look transparent. When it cools down it loses that transparency. You can see it if you peek a lot (not something highly encouraged to do, but I never could not do it). People stop it for various reasons, usually using a fridge or a fan to keep the soap from turning. I imagine there are many reasons for avoiding gel. jzastoupil
I think most people try to avoid gel when there is a chence of overheating...like when making a honey soap. Or when making a goat milk soap, to try and keep it from discoloring.
