britesun
I just like to say hi and to introduce myself, online I go by britesun. I enjoy traveling with or without the RV, reading and finding new crafts to do. I have made small voltive candles for myself and am now experimenting with gel and I do have a question, I am using a metal pouring pot to liquify the gel, but it seems to take forever any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks
lindanelson
Hi britesun and welcome to CandleTech (craft server).I can't help with your question, just wanted to welcome you. I've had 10#'s of gel wax sitting here for most of the summer. Still haven't had time to play with it. Hopefully after Christmas.
Vicky_CO
Are your using the double boiling method like for regular wax? If so that is why it is taking so long gel needs direct heat and then it still takes longer than regular wax.
mizbizzyb
Even with direct heat it can take a while....make sure you have a thermometer.I like to melt mine in a Presto pot....while I am prepping stuff (or doing other things) the gel or wax is melting. You can get the presto pots at wallyville (walmart) for about $20-$
