DaniGirl
I just made a huge lot of regular bath bombs and bubble bombs I will be giving as gifts this year but I want a warning on them and not sure what to say. I'm sure the bubble bombs will have a slightly different warning because of the slsa.. any help?
Meridith
I would make sure to add: "For external use only. Discontinue if rash or irritation occurs."If you add any oils or butters then I'd also add something about the tub possibly being slippery and to take care. RobinInOR
Unless you mark the product as being "intended for use exclusively by adults", you need to mark it with:"Caution —Use only as directed. Excessive use or prolonged exposure may cause irritation to skin and urinary tract. Discontinue use if rash, redness, or itching occurs. Consult your physician if irritation persists. Keep out of reach of children."That's from 21 CFR 740.
DaniGirl
Thank you both. So that would be for both types Robin? Or just for the one with slsa in it? I didn't realize children shouldn't use them. I haven't made any for children, but you never know what they're used for once they leave your hands. Good to know! ah-soy
The warning Robin posted is supposed to be used on all bubble bath products. It's not that kids can't use them, but the warning has to be there by law.
DaniGirl
ok thank you very much
CareBear
If they contain oils you should add a line about leaving the tub slippery so to exercise caution.
ah-soy
Labeling came up in another thread so I found my FDA regulation bookmark. Here it is:http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/cos-lab3.html#clgl
awickedscent
Also, if you use SAO you may want to put a "nut allergy" warning on it as well.
DaniGirl
wow never thought of that. I don't use SAO or other nut oils, but thanks for the heads up.
