  1. Hiya. Just wondering about a couple of FOs from candlechem. I've never used their oils, but I see some good reviews on them and thought I'd give them a try. I'm just a little hesitant because there are no descriptions, which kinda sell a product in my opinion lol. Any reviews for these scents? (in wax). If so, any descriptions you would give them would be great Blueberry Muffin Blueberry Cheesecake Cinnamon Bun Wood Burning Fireplace thankya
  2. Thank you so much! I'm just going to wait for their reply and if they can't/won't help me, I'll take you up on that.. so nice of you thank you:whoohoo:
  3. Chrisinpa lol thanks, thats so not what I wanted to hear, but I totally agree lol. Jeana, I just emailed them. Crossing my fingers!
  4. No I haven't tried the one from JS, but after reading about it on here I'm thinking of trying it. It's between that and their cinnamon buns with vanilla icing (is that right?) Wonder which is closer to FOC's. I think the orange chiffon cake is the sample I've tried before, so I might just go with that. Jeana, I haven't asked, I just assumed they wouldn't share that information with me. I guess it's worth a try, thanks
  5. Yes, they ship to Canada, but their cinnamon buns is nowhere near what I'm looking for. Never tried their OC though, anyone know how it compares to FOC? Thanks though! :smiley2:
  6. I just poured the last of my Cinnamon Buns and Orange Chiffon stock. Last time I ordered, I ordered enough to scent an army (sorry, that's all I could come up with lol). Anyway, just went to restock and they aren't shipping to Canada anymore! Please, somebody tell me another supplier has these EXACT fragrances! lol. Ok, maybe there are no exacts out there, but I would love something as close as possible. I know I got something very similar to OC from Just Scent, but can't remember if it would be something I would replace it with or not (can't remember what it was called anyway). The cinnamon buns though, it was my absolute favourite after spending hords of time and money looking for it.. before it, I never found anything that even came close to how I perceive the real scent. Any suggestions from those of you who have tried these scents from FOC??
  7. So if I superfat at 6% will it also effect the lather? I'm thinking it would, but want to be sure. I have a recipe I'm enjoying, but would like it to be a smidge milder. I haven't deviated from the default numbers on the calc yet, so not sure what the outcome will be or if I should just go ahead and tweak the recipe instead.
  8. Could someone lead me in the right direction, I can't seem to find them anywhere. Thanks!
  9. Thank you so much everyone! Hopefully we can keep this thread alive as more people test new vanilla's. I see it's been a sought after fragrance for many here for a long time and hopefully we'll soon find the right one. I just ordered some mexican vanilla.. crossing my fingers.
  10. I can't seem to open their site right now, but I'll check it out when I can. Thanks!
  11. Ok so I have gone through every thread on the best vanilla's out there and I came so close to ordering a couple last night based on amazing reviews here.. only to look a little further and find there was an added this or that which I'm not interested in smelling in a vanilla. I know everyone has their own idea of vanilla and I have smelled so many from so many suppliers, but there are just too many and I would love some help finding a great pure vanilla or extract scent. Nothing added. I know there are amazing vanillas out there, but I already have the ones that have that certain something that makes them unique mouth watering scents. I would just like a TRUE vanilla scent. No more no less. No ice cream scents or buttery scents. I know it's been asked a lot before, but by the looks of it, nothing was really all that true and I'm hoping more testing has been done since on a couple that were only smelled oob at that point. Thanks for any help.
  12. Thank you for that.. was hoping someone would have experience with them. I will definitely give them a try.
  13. I add mine to my oils. I haven't had a problem with the CA reacting.
  14. I think I read it too while searching for my answer before posting. Was it something about labeling it properly??
  15. wow never thought of that. I don't use SAO or other nut oils, but thanks for the heads up.
  16. I'm not actually having any problems with the water based other than getting certain colors. Is there another reason they shouldn't be used? I never thought of what certain vibrant colors would do to the water lol. I guess that is something to keep in mind, but at least with the bubble bombs you mainly see the bubbles so it wouldn't matter much what's going on under it. Thanks for your help everyone.
  17. Well so far no staining. Does that mean I shouldn't be going for vibrant colors then? And the powders only give you pastels or you're just playing on the safe side? I would love to get a shade of red. ANY shade, lol.
  18. I'm using FD&C liquid dyes but I'm not happy with them. Like with red, I can get various shades of purple and light pinks, but not much more than that. Is there anything else I can use to get more variety in colors? Has anyone tried labcolors or bath bomb colors? If so, how do you like them? Anyone tried both and can compare? Anything else I can try?
  19. Thank you both. So that would be for both types Robin? Or just for the one with slsa in it? I didn't realize children shouldn't use them. I haven't made any for children, but you never know what they're used for once they leave your hands. Good to know!
  20. I just made a huge lot of regular bath bombs and bubble bombs I will be giving as gifts this year but I want a warning on them and not sure what to say. I'm sure the bubble bombs will have a slightly different warning because of the slsa.. any help?
  21. I also noticed (at least for me) that omitting cornstarch makes a much harder ball and I haven't had any cracks yet with those. I prefer cornstarch though
  22. I prefer liquipar optima for scrubs
  23. Ok, I want to try polysorbate in my bath bombs but I'm not sure how to add it to a recipe that doesn't call for it. How much Poly to oil should I be using??
  24. I've read different things.. but I'm pretty certain it can. The most recent I came across was 18 months when kept in original unopened container. Kind of defeats the purpose to keep it closed though lol, so not sure how long it lasts after it's opened. If it smells, I'd pitch it.
