AnjieBurdett
I have just recieved my first silicone mould, and its soo cute A few things I wanted to ask though ......The mould is split down one side, I know this is for easy removal but what do I do with it when I pour? Do I have to tape it up and won't it leak??I know I shouldn't use stearing in these and should use vybar instead but can I use fragrance oil in them?????TIAAnjie,x. darlascandles
I only use silicone molds for over 11 years now.........yes, I use fragrance in every batch I do (and yes, I've use stearic as well as vybar). The split molds I hold together with a rubber band until the wax is set up and ready to remove....silicone basically "seals" itself, is very forgiving and just a rubber band is plenty enough to hold it together, without even leaving a seam in 99% of my cases.
