TwinMom
Thanks for this thread, I just had someone ask me to make them a candle with patch....which is better for a soy jar E/O or F/O?
Scented
So it's better in soap than OOB?Well IMO it is! We went through enough of it this year. I was really surprised, but I had a hard time sharing this scent.
Darbla
Just invest in the EO. It is very much worth it. I think you can still get it about $30. pp. .... I forgot to say the real Patchouli ages. It gets stronger and deeper smelling the longer you have it.Unless you get some of the absolute garbage I got from Camden Grey. I think this patch was distilled terribly, and it's got that awful burnt smell to it. Another EO from them (I think it was sandalwood) was the same way, and I'm scared to buy patchouli and sandalwood EOs now.
Darbla
I couldn't edit my last post so I'm having to make another post to correct something: Vetiver was the other really rotten EO I got. Not sandalwood.
Scented
Really Vetiver?
Darbla
Yes. It is a stanky mess. Smells like hot asphalt, and from what I understand that type of scent is from it being distilled in iron and something screwing up the process. Somebody correct me if that's wrong. Scented
That just sounds nasty! I'm on the fence about vetiver anyway, but it doesn't smell like your description.
sassy906
Stupid question, but, what does Patch smell like?
Scented
Well how to describe that lol. It's a very earthy smell, disgusting to most, but it used to be considered an aphrodisiac.

beautifulfeetcandles
Just invest in the EO. It is very much worth it. I think you can still get it about $30. pp. A little goes a very long way. You can mix it with other cheaper oils too like sweet orange that is only $8.00 pp. That is much cheaper than any FO. I recently made an orange, Patch, lavender at only 3%. It was super strong, enough to fill a few rooms. There's nothing like the real thing. You could charge more for EO candles too.I forgot to say the real Patchouli ages. It gets stronger and deeper smelling the longer you have it.Where can you get 16oz of patcholi EO for $30?
