Ashleigh Posted October 22, 2005 Author Share Posted October 22, 2005 It is just a normal zinc wick from peaks that i use for my parf. candles.Yes I did use the same presto that I use for my other waxes.I had actually just finished pouring a container candle before the gel one! opps!This one was just for decoration because someone had given me the wax.Thanks for all the info I'll have to think about getting me another presto if I get into gel!Ashleigh Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
sharyl55 Posted October 22, 2005 Share Posted October 22, 2005 If you try another one, just put your wicks in the oven for a few minutes then sort of wipe off the wax. I finally got some wicks made for gels. Think they are primed with a really high mp wax. Instead of using the presto you could use a 4 cup pyrex measuring cup and melt the gel in the oven. Wilbur Posted November 24, 2005 Share Posted November 24, 2005 It looks to me that it would be a lot simpler to use wick with no wax. You can buy wick and tabs and make your on wick.This way you can save on wick. When you pour you simply pour over the wick priming it with the same MP wax you are using for that candle.
