ajl
Hi everyone,I made some votives using 1 pound of regular paraffin wax, added 1 tsp vybar and 1oz cinnamon buns fo (from just scent) and chips to colour. I've test burned them with a 36-24-24 wick which looks a little bit too small to me, and with a 44-28-18 wick which looks a bit too big Does anyone have any other suggestion? Please:D Angie
FragileXmom
Sorry Angie, I don't really have any advice. All I make is votives (do not sell) and those are the 2 wicks I use. Maybe give it another go with the 44z and make sure to keep the wick trimmed. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
Jcandleattic
A lot of people suggest LX 12 I believe-or is it 10? (I could be wrong, because I don't use LX wicks, I use the ones you are having trouble with, but with a different wax) Anyway, point is, lol you might want to research and try a different type wick than the zincs. Good luck.. I'm in the process of researching and re-testing different wicks also.
Texas_Jems
What is the mp of your paraffin? I use a 130mp paraffin wax for my votives, and use the (36-24P) votive wicks. I get a 15 hour burn on them. If the mp on your wax is higher, you will need a hotter wick. Maybe try (44-20-18Z) or (44-24-18Z). Both of those wicks are hotter than (36-24-24P) but cooler than (44-28-18Z).Hugs,Jems
ajl
Thanks for all the suggestions. I just noticed a mistake in my original post, I'm using the 44-24-18 not 44-28-18 Doh!!! :rolleyes2
