Lizzy
Hi everyone - I'm still kinda new here but hope it's ok to post a question regrading Astorlite Q and layering in an 8oz Apo jar?Any helpful hints? I am heating to 195F add liquid dye while heating and add FO as soon as I take it off the heat.My Question is - do I let the first layer cool off completely before I pour the second or not ?TIA
R.S.
I haven't done a palm layered, but I would think you would absolutely want to let it cool completely so that the colors don't bleed together. (They still might anyways, but not sure).

Stella1952
No, don't let it cool completely. You only want a skin on top of the first layer - maybe 1/8" max - just enough to support the next layer without melting. When the layer cools completely, it will contract and the next layer will underrun the first. HTH:)
