I actually messed up and bidded on the wrong auction and I don't even recognize the supplier of these. Long story short I thought they were from BC. My error, not the sellers. I don't care if the smell fades - I just can't see putting anything that smells bad in my candles! The stuff I like doesn't smell bad, period. Think about it, you have what, a pound of wax or more, and you are putting in a few measley drops (of dye) plus fo more than likely in that large amount of wax - you don't smell it! Debra Phelps Posted September 22, 2007 Share Posted September 22, 2007 I accidentally dropped the orange bottle in the orange spice mixture. It made it a very deep pretty orange. But it had a smell like an ashtray. I took them off the shelf, and people ask about them. Some can smell it, some can't. So yeah, some of it has a funny smell. I personally can't STAND that chemical-type odor and I DO notice it in the finished candle - its so obvious to me that I can't use them. I've been using the French Color dye blocks with great results - now the French liquids - some of those have a strong odor to me.
