Kristin
I just started making candles and I'm really enjoying it. The last batch I made I used warm apple pie fo and apparently I didn't use enough. Is there any way to add more fo now or is this batch just no good? Also, I made them in tins so is there a way to get the wax out other than waiting for them to burn down? Thanks so much!!
debscent
Few questions for you. How much FO per lb. did you use? What wax? Is the FO a high quality FO? (I know that seems like a dumb question, but it has alot to do with scent throw). What type of wick? Are you achieving a full melt pool? Do you have a cold throw, or just no hot throw? shell1226
I'm not sure what type of wax or wick you are using, or how much FO you used, but Peak's Apple Pie throws great for me in J50.
Melly
If you really didnt put enough in there, you can melt and repour, just place the tins in the oven on a low setting until the wax liquified, empty it in your pour pot, check the temp, add more FO and repour. Average use is 1 oz per pound of wax, however some waxes can hold more, check the place where you bought the wax to see what percentage of oils it can hold. Adding too much will cause FO to seep out of the candle.
Kristin
Thanks for your thoughts. I used Peak's apple pie but only used one half ounce per pound of paraffin. I believe that I simply did not put enough oil in. I will try to melt and repour.
