Meridith
You could infuse some chamomile tea in an oil or you can make some of it and use it as your liquid in your lye water or use it as part of your liquid added at trace. Also, you don't have to buy it in an EO. Tony's and ICS (ST) both sell a very nice chamomile FO.
LaVida
I usually don't measure.... but standard is a tbl to 1/2 cup of water. I'd probably throw 1/4 c herbs to a cup and 1/2 of water. I steep them for a day or two...
LaVida
also, I like to add some chamomile to my soap... I out some in the food processor attachment and blend it up to add at trace....
cbv1
I steep chamomile flowers in the water I use for the lye mixture. I usually leave it steep overnight. Like LaVida I also throw some chamomile flowers in my food processor and then sift these and throw a few tablespoons in at trace. I like the speckles in the soap. I do use chamomile EO but if I buy a 4 oz bottle, I just bought one from Snow Drift, it does last me a long time. My chamomile soap is my favorite. It is so luxurious and smells so wonderful. I always feel very pampered when I bathe with it! I found if you want to use chamomile EO you really have to shop around. Prices between vendors can be so different, it is amazing! I bought a 4 oz bottle last year from one vendor for $130. This year the same bottle is $239. Yikes!! Snow Drift was less expensive so I went with them this time. CareBear
If you put botanicals on top, turn your bars upside down to cut to keep the cuts smooth (otherwise the cutters drag the botanicals down and they scratch the cut surface making it uneven)
