Blest2BAmerican
I think I've seen this topic discussed here but I can't find it when I do a search. I'm wondering which essential oils would be safe to use in lip balms? Thanks.
sune42
Off the top of my head, anise, spearamint, pepermint, lemon, grapefruit, and orange.
sudsnwicks
You can also add tea tree EO to the list.

RobinInOR
Lavender. Lemongrass, but I think it's at a very low %. There was a post somewhere comparing lemongrass to tea tree as a healer, and you used it at a smaller quantity that TT.Remember citrus is a photosensitizer, so for those you might want to use the folded varieties that are less so just to be cautious. Can you explain that? Thanks!
RobinInOR
Well, there's the regular citrus - orange, lemon. Then, they can distill it a couple more times - it strengths the EO, and removes some of the photosensitizing elements, the terpenes. so it's "safer" for leave on products. You'll see them on EO sites as 5x orange ("5 fold orange"), 5x lemon, 10x orange.....
