Tizimarezie Posted June 30, 2007 Posted June 30, 2007 Has anyone tried mixing soy pillar/votive wax with soy container wax? What would be the downfalls of doing this? I know many mix their own blends by using paraffin container wax with soy container wax but I was wondering why a soy PB couldn't be used in place of the paraffin.Comments, PLEASE? Quote
Candybee Posted June 30, 2007 Posted June 30, 2007 Pillar blends are designed to shrink and pull away from the sides of your pillar mold so they may not be the best choice to add to your container blend. You might be able to use a small percentage if you want to make the container candle wax a little harder. I suppose you could substitute it for beeswax. You know-- anything is worth a try. Maybe start with 5-10% PB and see how it performs in the container. Quote
Judy, USMC Posted June 30, 2007 Posted June 30, 2007 I've never tried mixing the two for a container candle. I have found that I can mix the two (25% pillar & 75% container) for melts - and it works great! Quote
