Jami
I had listed some 416 tart wax on the classified ads a few days ago but didn't get one single taker. I even listed it pretty cheap lolI actually use my GB 444 soy for tarts but I pour in clamshells. Since it is a little harder than the GB 415, popping them out of the clamshells hasn't been a problem.
mystical_angel1219
KY Pillar/Votive soy wax gets my vote.
stacien
The GB 416 you can get through Gateway foods. Just notify Kris Kackey for a sample to try out before you purchase a case.
Judy, USMC
Hi! I make my Calmshell's in soy with the wax I have on hand...and I think this may be a useful formula for any brand. Just use 75% of your container wax with 25% of the pillar wax. My friend doesn't have pillar wax so she just adds a teaspoon of Bee's Wax to a pound of container wax and pours into the calmshell. Synascents
Thank you again for all of the input on the soy wax for tarts!I def do have soy wax here been wanting to try it out and def will with the beeswax! Thanks again all!Stephanie
luvmyfam77
I use NG's 100% soy wax then add about 1½-2oz of beeswax per lb of soy wax. Even without the beeswax they came out of their molds just fine but I wanted them a little harder so adding the beeswax seemed to do the trick. I'm getting like 40 hours on my tarts on the warmer, I don't want to mess that up.thx!
Countrycandlemaker
This is probably a silly question but I am using Naturesway Cargil v-1 for my tarts and I have tried pouring them at a million different tempurtures and the keep sinking in the middle and cracking. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or even suggest the best and easiest soy wax for tarts. Thank you so much for your help!!E'dee Johnson:yay:
motherofalltrades
I used to use the 416 wax for tarts, however when I ran out and I need to make some tarts, I used my 415...................100% Soy (no additives) and I haven't had a problem with them at all! They come out of the clamshell just fine! You can't tell the difference in my opinion. Once they melt you can't tell anyway! However if you use the little Tart cups, it might be a problem because the wax is a bit softer then the votive wax, but I always put them in the freezer for a bit and the pop right out! Don't put them in the oven or other confined area, they need to set up slowly and naturally. Mine fall if DH opens the door. Think of it as baking bread or a or souffle' .. do not expose them to temp changes or they fall.I'm sorry you're having trouble with them. Hope this info helps.
