DONNAMAC
What is a good substitute for palm kernal flakes. I thought I saw a post on here once that had a site in it that you could go to to see what you could sub for certain oils,

Crafty1_AJ
To check for substitute oils, you want to find one that has a similar fatty acid profile to the one you want to sub out. For example, if you go to soapcalc.com and check on oil properties, you'll find out that both pko and coconut have similar fatty acid profiles. Therefore, one can sub for the other.Just be sure to run your new recipe through soapcalc or similar to get your new lye calculations.
