Tricia76
I know I wanna make Soy Candles. But What is the best site or u think is the best site to buy my wax and stuff?
rpant
thier is a link somewhere on here showing the main suppliers. you want someone that is both close and has a good relationship with its customers. shipping will eat you alive when it comes to wax and stuff. one time purchases i get from peaks because i like their customer service and speed with which the things show up. wax i get from another supplier because it costs so much to ship, i didnt think it was a big deal at first but it really adds up.as far as a good site to learn from you are on it, the people on this site are full of great advice to almost any question you have and can normally point you in the right direction for specific problems and questions. this is always my first stop for advice. by the way when you need a moral booster to help you get past you're latest mistake the people here always step up and relate how they have done far worse, the same thing and often tell you how to fix it. best people in the industry, hobby and the web.remember have fun, be safe and check back often. MissMary
I'd start with a kit that includes everything. It's on the pricey side, but if you end up not doing it, saves you a bundle and if you do use it, you'll have a better idea of what your essentials are. SatinDucky
Start by Reading! Research what you're interested in then go from there. There are numerous different kinds and types of wax, and for different uses... ie. containers, pillars, tarts etc. If you read enough, you should get a pretty good idea of what you want to start with then order a kit for that. This is a very expensive hobby to start and you don't want to go spend a lot of money on a case of wax, only to find you don't like it.Before you ask, nobody can tell you what is the best wax to use or what the most popular jars is, things like that. Everyone has a different opinion based on their own experience. There is also a veggie board for natural waxes and you find a lot of posts about different kinds of soy there. Also the "search" function here is wonderful. You can find most any basic information that way and it's quicker than waiting on people to show up and post answers.Welcome and good luck

asheebeans
I would recommend Nature's Garden candlemaking supplies. They have a beginner kit that is really nice, and reasonably priced. You just need to supply the pouring pot (Heck, when I started I used a double boiler made out of a cleaned-up coffee can!) and a candy thermometer (which can be found at many stores). Their instructions are great and they even have a little manual on their site about starting up/running a candle business. Their shipping is quick and reasonable, and their customer service is top notch! :highfive: Check them out! Good luck to you!www.naturesgardencandles.com

singleyellowrose
If it helps.. I started out "playing" with candle wax 3 years ago.. I wanted to do soy as well.. but it was a MAJOR PITA. Some things about soy i just do NOT like and did not want in a candle. I am now working with a 50/50 blend that seems to be doing what I want, but still have some natural wax in it.That said.. before that.. i read and read and read. And I still read ALOT...you can never learn too much. I still don't feel confident enough in my candles to sell them.. when they are exactly WHAT i want.. then i will, but until then.. i will keep testing and playing and learning.
