Beeswax votives and square braid wicks

Recommended Posts

I've tried the LX 16's and they weren't even close. Pretty sure I'll have to go with the square braid. Do I need to prime these? If not, what's the easiest way to get them through the wick pin hole?

TIA,

LisaW

P.S. I already did a search and couldn't find the answer.

You'll want to prime at least the top of the wick, or when you light it, it won't stay lit. Even the unprimed wick will just go through the hole very easily.

After testing, if you find you like the SB wicks, you can order them primed and in the base from the wick builder section at Candlewic.com.

LX 16 will only work with really clean bw - or that which has been refined. For instance you should easily be able to get that wick to work with either what BW KY or candlewic sells. Maybe try a larger size if you have them.

Hmm - I use flat and square braid in BW pillars and tapers - and the wick is not primed and it works fine. I'm sure it would be better if they WERE primed though.
