Molds to use for CP?

I'm just starting, so right now I think I'll just line a shoe box with freezer paper and use that - don't want to lay out a lot of cash until I know I'll like this and be able to get somewhat proficient at it.

But for future reference, can you use any kind of molds with CP soap? I've seen some really pretty embossed-type molds out there, with fleur de lis or Celtic knots or other designs, and I wasn't sure if those were strictly for melt and pour or if you could use them for any type of soap.

Thanks! :grin2:

I use those kinds of molds quite often for CP with no problems (I always soap at room temperature, though). What I do is that I usually pour the majority of my batch into a log mold and then pour any excess into the individual molds with the pretty designs. The soaps pop out pretty easy for me after a stint in the freezer.

"Martha Molds" are what I've used in abundance.

The Martha Stewart plastic drawer organizers at KMart.

1 holds 3lbs of soap and then you can just slice it in about 1" sections.

they sell'em in single and 3 divided trays~last through MANY soapings.

Line 'em with freezer paper and just grease up the ends with vaseline.

Here's my first batch of HP in the 3-fer tray
