starlessjade
I'm trying to get a nice shade of yellow with Reddig-Glo dye chips and I'm having the hardest time! I want it to be bright... well, about the color of all the cute smilies on here! (just an excuse to use them all) but the "yellow" chips give me a yellow that's just too fluorescent. I thought "gold" might be better but it looks about the same to me. I'm using paraffin pillar wax with stearic.
inkbeet
Try a touch of brown or orange.
starlessjade
Orange didn't help much, but I didn't think of brown! I'll give that a shot.
Donita
There are two kinds of yellow chips. Saturn yellow and yellow. I get a great yellow with the plain yellow. Also....adding some additives will change it too. What are you using? Donita Louise
starlessjade
I have the regular yellow. I'm just using stearic and UV inhibitor. Maybe I'm just being picky
Candle Man
I have the regular yellow. I'm just using stearic and UV inhibitor. Maybe I'm just being picky Straight paraffin in more translucent, stearic & UV will not add to the opaqueness of the wax, Vybar 103 will and give you a much deeper & richer color.BTW - If you are going for a mottle or rustic look you can't use vybar.
