IndyGirl
My rustic layered pillar that I made yesterday separated at the layers. I have made quite a few and this is the first time this has ever happened! What did I do wrong? Actually, I tried to repair it by putting it back in the mold and poured a fresh hot layer to join it back together........I just took it out again and it came apart in 2 places! I'm re-melting it now and starting over with it.
Candlelovr
You waited too long to pour your next layer it sounds like. They didnt adhere very well. As Eugenia says, "timing is everything!" She had one split apart too.
starlessjade
It is a little weird that it happened this time when it normally doesn't... did you let the layers cool a little longer than usual? Was it colder in your house than usual? That would probably make them cool faster if you were going by time instead of look or feel. It may also help if you use a heat gun between layers.
