number2of7
If you are unsure of what the max amount of an FO is, do you stick to the general 6%, or can you bump it up at all? If so, by how much without it being too much?As some of you know, I'm having a small issue getting a good hot throw on one of my candles. I bought the FO from a lady on ebay who was downsizing her collection. Because I don't know which supplier she originally bought them from, I have no idea what the max load is for my FO.I originally added the 6%....could I add 9% next time and be safe? jillgunter
Its your wax that determins the max load, not the FO. Most waxs will hold 6%, so I would stick with that if you are unsure.

topofmurrayhill
I would greatly differ with that. It's both the wax and the FO that determine the maximum. Also the numbers you hear in connection with a particular wax usually tend towards the optimistic side. With many fragrance oils you might get best results with 3/4 or even 1/2 that amount.
