KristineG
I've been trying to make my first pillar using Palm Feather wax from CW. I didn't poke relief holes in the first one because it looked nice and level at the top and it feathered ok in some areas but not others. Once I lit it, I saw why relief holes were necessary..lol. I was told to melt it down and try again. Well, I've been doing that, I think I'm on my 4th re-melt of this pillar and the only place it feathers now is just on top. The rest of it is smooth. Am I done re-using this little batch of palm feather wax?
Mexitan
I've remelted my palm wax many times, and have never had a problem with it crystallizing. Maybe you didn't get the mold or wax hot enough when you poured? I don't know. I keep messing with my stupid ball mold, and have remelted a certain batch at least 5 times, and still turned out beautiful. I have to say though, I'm sick of the scent after melting it so much! SheilaW
I have remelted many times without any problems. Make sure you bring it up to at least 200 and pour in warm molds.
KristineG
Thanks for the help. Pillars are so much harder compared to jar candles. I'm going to keep trying.
Sharon in KY
I remelted and it did not feather much. But I don't know if I remelted it as high the second time.
