I used to make these till they caught fire! It's true, no matter what I did, the plastic caught on fire! The wick always fell over and caught the sides on fire. For a long time, I thought it was just mine but recently, a friend gave me some party lite tealights in the plastic and yes, it caught fire too! Actually, it had to be more than a few seconds because I was working in my office and smelled something burning. It dawned on me that I had a tealight burning and yes...it was flaming! Thank goodness I had it on a little dish.

I was able to log into my store admin for a period of time yesterday however, once again, I am receiving the invalid license key message and not able to log in to store admin. Am I the only store this is affecting and why is this happening?? It's going on 5 days now.

Recently, 5/11/2010, Graceful Hosting purchased a new server and began migration to this server on 5/11/2010. This migration was only supposed to take 24 hrs. My website is up but I can't log into my storeadmin. Is anyone else having this problem?

It depends. If you're lotion "bars" are in a push up and/or twist up tube, you can use soy. If you're molding them in a bar form, then no, soy wax is too soft. I make lotion sticks in twist ups. I've used soy and beeswax. I prefer the soy...nice glide however, I only use beeswax in my foot sticks. HTH

Do you have a paid order for 3 candles? My suggestion would be to email him one more time. Let him know that you previously emailed him and haven't received a response. You should again outline your concerns. Give him a few days to respond. If he doesn't, I'd refund his payment. If he has not paid for the order. Let it go. He probably already changed his mind or went somewhere else.

They currently have a 4 month waiting list for reviews. Also, they don't review all the candles they receive. They pick and choose. Alot has changed at candlefind since I did it. They've grown tremendously and I'm sure they're bombarded with requests for reviews. My suggestion is to follow this link, read the entire page and contact Christina via the link in the page. Well, since last nite I thought about this. Some of the fragrances I recently purchased came in their original bottle and some came in their bottle that has a new look. It didn't dawn on me till this morning and after looking, that I only tried the fragrances that came in the new bottles before giving up on using them. I mis-quoted myself when I stated "Every NG fragrance that I just bought and tried didn't seem right". I didn't try every one...but the ones I did try were in the new bottle.

Yanno...I thought it was me! I took a break from candle and soap making for the past 8 months and just got back into it using the same recipes and methods for both soap and candles. Purchased all new equipment and supplies. Every NG fragrance that I just bought and tried (never really use NG for soap, just candles) didn't seem right. First I blamed the wax even though I bought the same wax I always used...then the wicks....I swore something changed....then I figured it was just my nose. So far, NG's are just sitting on the shelf. I can't bring myself to use them. I don't think it's because of the "Phthalate free" because I'm using FO's from Just Scent and hers are Phthalate-Free, and I don't have any problems with them. I think maybe NG re-formulated.

I've been making these for some time now and the process has become sort of a habit. I made a batch last nite and here's exactly what I did. I measure all my dry ingredients in a deep stainless bowl. Then, I measured all of my "wet" ingredients in a glass measuring cup. I subbed the safflower oil with sweet almond oil (sometimes I use jojoba) and I used fragrance oil but used the exact measurment that the recipe states. I then sat on the floor indian style to allow my legs to hold the bowl. I SLOWLY poured the oil mixture into the dry mixture, a little at a time while constantly stirring with a wire whisk. Just add a little drizzle at a time but don't stop stirring (yes, your arm will get a major work out). Take your time pouring the wet phase into the dry phase to assure your stirring thoroughly. Once all the mixture is stirred thoroughly (it will feel like dampish wet sand), I started making the bombs quickly. I use the large bb press from KB. When using this press, I've found that you don't hold them open to scoop up the mixture. I keep it closed and pack the mixture through the little holes. As it gets full, I stick my finger into the hole to make sure it's packing tight. I know mine are ready when I can't get my finger through the hole at all. I then tap the press, kinda hard, on the counter a couple of times and then release only one side of the press, turn it over in my hand and let the bomb fall out of the other side. As far as hardness, mine are rock hard and they dry rock hard. I lay them all out on a brown paper grocery bag and let them sit for about a week. I've packaged them, individually, in cellophane bags and tied a bow on them and I've shrink wrapped them. I prefer the bag type packaging. One more thing...I NEVER use witch hazel like others have done. I tried it once and it tended to make mine loose and gritty. HTH

I've used this recipe for some time now. I use the large bath bomb press from KB or sometimes a plastic xmas bulb and they turn out perfect everytime (unless you forget to add cornstarch..lol). I'm not sure what's happening with yours. I never have to add additional oil but I do work very fast when making these for fear of the mixture drying out.

I've been making bath bombs for some time now and last nite, didn't see anything unusual by not using cornstarch. Well, today, there is a difference. They're all cracked, rough and grainy. It has to be that I forgot the cornstarch. Oh well...in the trash...such a waste they smell sooo good.

Can someone tell me how important it is that you add the cornstarch? I just made a batch and it wasn't till I was done and cleaning up that I realized I forgot the cornstarch.

I've been making bath bombs for awhile now but decided to try this recipe since I just purchased the large bath bomb press from Kitty. The recipe, made exactly per her directions, but used FO instead of EO was very easy. My bath bombs turned out perfect using the large press and the size of the bath bomb made by this press is perfect for one bath. I finally tried this recipe about a month ago. I'm not a tub soaker so I gave them to others to test for me. They loved them! Here's a picture of the different shapes[ATTACH]13825[/ATTACH]

I've used all three and I can definitely tell the difference. I use the Indulgence as a body butter so I make it a bit thicker and put it in a jar. The Decadence and Shea are used more as lotions. I think alot depends on how you dillute and your skin type along with temperature and humidity.

You should also checkout www.soapersworkshop.com Lindsay is great to work with, you can customize the base along with preservatives. I've tried all 3 and love them all. Her bases are reasonably priced.

I think the eBook is a great idea. I think its wonderful that someone actually took the time to put it together and share. True, you can spend countless hours searching all over this board, opening every single thread that contains the term craft fair only to read a bunch of irrelevant information or, buy the ebook and have it all at your fingertips allowing you to make notes and reference information in a more oraganized fashion. I personally don't have the need for it since I've been doing various types of craft fairs since the early 90's but the curiousity of seeing this book is killin me so I may buy it. Also, for a newbie, how can they be sure they've gathered all pertinent information by searching here. Most new people have never done a craft fair so how would they know that they've gathered all necessary information? As far as the 2 negative posts earlier in this thread.....it figures. Life wouldn't be complete here unless someone is knocking someone else on a job well done.

No, I use a shea butter lotion, then layer in aloe vera gel. When I use the Panama Jack after sun aloe gel, I call it After-Sun Body Sorbet. When I use walmart or winn dixie brand clear aloe (which I color) I call it a Body Parfait. Basically both the same, I just feel more comfortable calling it after sun, when I use a aloe gel that is pre-made as an after sun gel. Really, I think it's all a play on words. They're basically the same thing.

That's what I do. Use that standard Panama Jack (blue and green)ones for the after sun body parfait and leave the lotion white. Use clear gel (I color it) for my other Body Parfaits.

Not sure how many you need but, if it's not too many and you're in a pinch, check Michaels Craft Store. I know they carry the 430 because I have them. Not too sure about yours, but they carry quite a few patterns and colors. Some in the candy and cake decorating isle and some in the wedding craft isle. HTH
