grandmaskitchen
Does anyone premix b & b products and then store, or do you mix them to order? (eg: bath salts, lotions, body butters, etc.) I don't want to start mixing things and then storing if it will be a problem with shelf life.I'm really new to this, so any comments would be greatly appreciated! RobinInOR
Some I do, some I don't. That's part of the testing, to see what kind of shelf life you get. Butters I'll make ahead, batch salts I would do fresh, lotions I only do a base, but I'll have a few bottles already packaged up because I know how it will look and smell in a few months. Crafty1
i do the same as Robin, some I make up and have ready to sale, others i store in pails, mixing and package at the time of order, others i just make fresh.
Crafty1_AJ
I do batches of body butter and refrigerate until sold. Same with lotion bars.Same with lip balms, minus the refrigerating. lolI keep unscented lotion on hand and scent to order most of the time, but I also mix up batches of popular scents and bottle up several during the busy season (usually in Dec. when people are SPENDING their dough!) Body washes and bubble baths are made to order because I sell those least.Of course soap has to cure for several weeks, so I try to keep plenty of that made up ahead. traceyy
Not meaning to hijack the thread, but I was going to make a fresh batch of lotion tonight but I only know how to make it with fo toscent the whole batch. How would I store it as a base so I can add as ordered?
