TerriWV
When I use powdered buttermilk, I use some of my water from the recipe to mix mine up. I don't know about the two you have though.
CareBear
Some withhold water from their lye solution and use that to make a slurry with the powder and some just SB the powders into the oils. Just make sure you mix super well if you put the powders into the oils (SB the blazes out of it)
Mnhorsemom
I use the powdered goatsmilk (I can not find fresh anywhere) and I add mine to my oils then stick blend really well. So far it's worked pretty good.

candlebean
I only do MP, so I don't know if this would apply to CP or HP or not, but I always add some liquid glycerin to my powdered stuff to keep it from clumping.
cindym
I withhold some of the water, mix the gm powder with warm water, l tlbp for every 8 ozs of water used. I shake it up really well, strain it, and then put it in the fridge. By the time everything is ready it is cold. I just add it a light trace. This has worked very well for me. Sometimes I will also add just cream at light trace. I love milk in soap. I tried the SB method and for me it just never worked out well. Everyone has there own style.
