Henryk
What are the other names for Poly AC-6A?TIA
topofmurrayhill
I will tell you everything I know FWIW.Poly AC and Gloss Poly are both polyethylene, just two different kinds from different chemical companies. Those seem to be the polyethylenes of choice for candles and have been used for many years. They produce similar results.Polyethylene candle additive is typically sold as Gloss Crystals and Lustre Crystals. If you see Gloss Poly C-15, then you know which one it is. I can speculate that Gloss Crystals is the code name for the Poly C-15 and Lustre Crystals could be the Poly AC-6A, but I don't know if that's definitely true.I just thought of someone who might know for sure. I will ask and post if I get more information.
Henryk
From what I've been researching, I think you are right, but I would really appreciate it if you could ask your your source - thank you!
topofmurrayhill
It seems to be confirmed. This is how I have it so far:Gloss Crystals = Eastman / Epolene C-15 (polyethylene wax)Lustre Crystals = Allied / Poly AC-A6 (polyethylene wax)Translucent Crystals = Sasol / Paraflint H1 (Fischer-Tropsch polymer wax)Clear Crystals = Degussa / Vestowax (Fischer-Tropsch polymer wax)Then there is also DuPont Elvax, which is ethyl vinyl acetate but I think you seldom see it.
