roady Posted February 22, 2007 Share Posted February 22, 2007 I am new to this and I'm still in the testing phase but I have a couple of leads on distributors. Problem is, I have no idea what to pay them. If my candles costs me 4.50 to make and I wholesale for 9.00, retail for 13.50, that doesn't leave a very good margin for MY profit if I have to pay a distributor. awickedscent Posted February 22, 2007 Share Posted February 22, 2007 what we do is they get 30% from our wholesale prices. They do the advertising, sales and promotion. Since we figured that the 30% that they are getting would be about the same as if I had to do all the work. lindanelson Posted February 23, 2007 Share Posted February 23, 2007 I have a friend that I am treating like a distributor. I pay her 25% of the retail for any sales she does. She is responsible for taking the order, collecting the money, and delivery. I provide her with my brochure. If people call or email me with an order and mention her name, she gets credit for it.She also signed a distributor agreement that I made up.
