George
Is distilled water the only type you can use for CP soap making? We have not started yet but am getting in supplies to start soon.
CareBear
OK, I firmly believe that you can use tap water. I use tap water. (I used to use distilled) Others disagree and will only soap with distilled.

Jcandleattic
Depending on the mineral and calcium amounts in your tap water, you can use tap water. If you have high concentrations of either it can make your lye do funky things. Where I live we have a very high concentration of minerals (copper and zinc among others) in our tap water, which is fine for drinking and consumption, but my soaps turn out funky if I try to use it for soapmaking. We have a water treatment system built into our house that takes out all impurities from the water and a seperate faucet for that water and that's the water I use for soap making. I haven't had problem when using that water.
George
Well that is good to know, we have a water system to have hooked up from our last house, now we have a reason to have it hooked up.
