littysmom
Hi, I have seen prim soaps that have been grubbied. I hear that before you pour your soap in the molds that the molds are grubbied first. Does anyone know if this is right, and if so where can i find the recipe. I just bought some prim soap molds and would like to give it a shot. I searched the site and can't find one for soaps. Thanks for looking.... jwahlton
I've never heard of that. I know some HP soaps look rustic, but not sure what you're asking.
asheebeans
Alot of grubbies soaps that I have seen are of the food variety......pumpkin, apple spice, oatmeal....etc. I've often wondered how they got the cinnamon to stick to the outside. I've never grubbed soap myself, but I think it looks kinda neat. Not sure that I would use it though....Isn't cinnamon a skin irritant, or is it just the oil? Seems a shame to rinse off all of that good cinnamon I could be putting in my cobbler! LOL
Scent Cellar
When I want a prim looking bar I just add some ground up peppermint leaves or poppy seeds and cut into chunky blocks rather than regular size bars.I have seen some pretty rustic molds on eBay but I think they would work better for M&P than CP soap. Crafty1_AJ
I get a grubby sort of top by HP'ing and roughing up the top texture with the tines of a fork.
maryann
I know what you want, its rubbing spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, etc on them. I don't know the proper directions. I'll look around on a few differ forums to see what I can find.
