Hurricane Mold

Recommended Posts

I am wanting to make a small hurricane was wondering about using a container that was bought with cake icing in it,just a ordinary container of cake icing, would this work and would the picture still remain in the wax or would it stick to the plastic of the container.

If you greased it real good, it might work, but I'm thinking not. The wax would have to be extra hot to keep from filming on the side before the pic is in place and the plastic isn't going to like that kind of heat. It'll be very soft....

A definite problem would be in how you plan to light it up. An electric tea light or hurricane bulb would work, but if you put a regular tea light in something that small, the sides will melt.

I tried it just for the heck of it once, using a 3" pillar mold (about the same size) and high temp hurricane wax. It wasn't pretty :laugh2:
